Women and Donations in web3
Maybe it's always been like this, but recently I've found it particularly noticeable how often I've talked to and read from women who are into web3.
Women
web3 is known for being a libertarian ant-government male nerd kind of place, which isn't scalable/sustainable. So, I think we're seeing an evolution in the focus of values. The values themselves are a bit fluid and evolving, but I would include values around having an open source store of value, open source payment system, and a focus on community giving.
Had to remove my original post because of the pdf, but here’s PLEBNET’s write up in Business Insider today. Check it out! ⚡️

Woke
Across all participants, I am seeing involvement from what I would consider the better parts of "woke" culture - the extending opportunity part rather than the cancel part.
Donations
Lastly, it has struck me how many influencers and platforms in web3 are making donations a core part of their building. Some examples here:
10% for the People@bi23com, Cnstnt, @mantalabs_, and @TangoValidator are announcing 10% for the People, a Celo Validator Pledge, in which 10% of cUSD epoch rewards (~$7.5k/yr) goes to causes like @IPCTmarket.

Thank you. Somewhere, someone will be grateful for that.
I've just donated 20 cUSD, because 2x10th November=20. No reason. Join the movement for change. https://t.co/k3q2UmAGf6— Bernardo (@obernardovieira) November 10, 2021
If you’ve been fortunate enough to do well this year, consider joining me and @VitalikButerin by donating at the addresses below.
But if all you have is Twitter, help spread the word. For every RT, I’ll donate another $50 to fight COVID in India, up to $100k. #cryptovscovid https://t.co/eKlOlccelv— Balaji Srinivasan (@balajis) April 25, 2021
P.S. I've started a weekly newsletter bringing you a list of links I've been reading. It's called "Pinotio's Web3 Weekend" and you can sign up here.
